Joint Successive Cancellation List Decoding for the Double Polar Codes

As a new joint source-channel coding scheme, the double polar (D-Polar) codes have been proposed recently. In this letter, novel decoder, namely successive cancellation list (J-SCL) is to improve decoding performance of D-Polar codes. We merge trellis source code and that channel construct compound trellis. trellis, variable nodes corresponding information bits representing high-entropy are merged into (JSC) nodes. Based on J-SCL decoder designed recover messages by combining SCL decoding. The doubles number paths for each JSC node low-entropy node, then discard all but $L$ with smallest path-metric (JPM). For JPM updated considering both decision log-likelihood ratios (LLRs) LLRs. Simulation results show outperforms turbo-like BP (TL-BP) lower complexity.
